| ABOUT US: Founded in October 2004 In Ireland's Sunny South East, Kilkenny’s Samba Group plays Brasilian Percussion with a strong sense of community with a quest for musical excellence at its heart. The group places a strong emphasis on the cultural roots of Brasil’s street music and has an active education policy including a growing resource library for it’s members. We play Afro-Brasilian based Grooves primarily from the North East of the country. | CAN I JOIN IN ? Yes!!! We have an open door policy, which means you can come along and give it a go irrespective of previous musical or drumming experience. |

 | JACARÉ (Alligator/Caiman) is a critter associated with Brazilian Waterways. The Samba de S.E part of our name is a geographical location (South East) and as you can probably gather, The band 's first incarnation in the city of Kilkenny was the glorious year of 2004 (October) | The band’s teaching and peer learning structures encourages players of all levels to work together to create full-on infectious Carnival sounds. Rehearsals are weekly and the group performs nationally at Festivals, Parades and events. |
